Test Engineer

The company is seeking a skilled Test Automation Engineer to join its growing engineering team. The successful candidate will design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks that ensure the reliability and security of complex, large-scale software systems. This person will work closely with developers, QA colleagues, and product owners throughout the software development lifecycle to embed quality and automation best practices into every release., * Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for backend and integration testing using Java, Spring, JUnit, and Cucumber

• Translate business requirements and user stories into clear, maintainable BDD test scenarios
• Collaborate with developers to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
• Identify, document, and track defects, working closely with development teams to resolve them efficiently
• Continuously improve test coverage, test data management, and automation frameworks
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the overall test strategy across projects
• Support performance, regression, and security testing efforts where required
• Contribute to a culture of quality across cross-functional, agile teams

• Proven experience as a Test Automation Engineer or similar role in a software development environment
• Strong hands-on experience with Java and the Spring framework
• Solid experience writing automated tests with JUnit and Cucumber (BDD)
• Familiarity with test automation best practices, including maintainable framework design and reusable test components
• Experience working with CI/CD tools (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar)
• Good understanding of RESTful APIs and experience testing them
• Strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail
• Fluent in English; knowledge of French and/or Dutch is a strong asset
