Job description

As a Principal Technical Program Manager on the Global Tech Strategy Team, you will drive analytics, define the strategy, lead the planning, and deliver complex, large-scale technology programs, ensuring alignment across multiple teams and stakeholders. This role requires expertise in analytics, program management, technical design, executive influence coupled with financial acumen to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions. You will ensure cross-functional collaboration, manage delivery, and implement solutions across the Walmart footprint. By providing clear communication and strategic oversight, you will enable successful delivery of technology initiatives that support business objectives and operational excellence within a dynamic environment.

About the team:

The Global Tech Strategy team leads large-scale, cross-functional programs to optimize non-wage spend and improve operational efficiency. This team expertly manages complex dependencies and delivers strategic technology solutions aligned with business objectives. Members apply advanced program management, data analysis, and stakeholder engagement to achieve measurable outcomes. Emphasizing clear executive communication, collaboration, and continuous improvement, the team supports scalable, high-quality technology initiatives. By combining technical expertise with strategic insights, the team advances Walmart’s mission and operational excellence on a global scale.

What you’ll do:

  • Perform analytics to define strategy and solutions to meet objectives
  • Define and deliver large-scale technical programs, coordinating cross-functional alignment to meet delivery
  • Establish and improve standardized workflows, prioritization frameworks, and automation opportunities to improve Global Tech Execution
  • Use data to influence solutions across the organization
  • Communicate strategy, impact, and results (both technical and financial) to executive leaders and stakeholders

Requirements

  • Proven experience driving analytics and insights from disparate data sources
  • Extensive experience in program and project management, including risk and stakeholder management across complex, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strong technical expertise in system design, cloud infrastructure, software lifecycle, and emerging technologies.
  • Proven ability to develop a technology strategy with clear goals and benefits
  • Demonstrated executive presence with effective communication and influence across teams and stakeholders.
  • Financial acumen to articulate short and long term impact of technical decisions on P&L
  • Knowledge of artificial intelligence and product strategy to support innovative technology solutions and improved delivery, Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position. If none are listed, there are no minimum qualifications.

  • Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related area and 6 years’ experience in engineering, engineering program management, technical program management, product management, or related area.

  • Option 2: 8 years’ experience in engineering, engineering program management, technical program management, product management, or related area.

Bellevue, Washington US-11663: The annual salary range for this position is $132,000.00 - $264,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
