  • Take an active role in planning, backlog refinement, stand-ups, reviews and retrospectives, raising delivery risks and technical concerns early.

  • Use automation with modern AI developer tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, AI debugging assistants) to streamline your coding, testing, and documentation tasks.

Working as part of a team

  • Work with Product Managers, Business Analysts, user-centred design, testers, architects and operational teams to understand needs, refine userstories, and agree practical solutions.

  • Solid practical experience of JavaScript or TypeScript, React and Next.js, including modern approaches to web application development.

  • Good practical experience of C# and .NET, including object-oriented design, web API development and working with relational databases and data access frameworks such as Entity Framework Core.

  • Experience of developing or supporting services in Microsoft Azure, for example using App Service, Functions, AzureSQL,or similar platform services.

  • A sound understanding of Git, CI/CD, automated testing, application security, accessibility, and modern software delivery practices.

  • A pragmatic approach to problem-solving, with the ability to take ownership of work, ask for support when needed and see changes through into live service.

Desirable experience

About the company

The CAA will be relocating from Aviation House (Our Gatwick Office) to new premises in a few years’ time. Our move is driven by strategic, operational and environmental considerations.

We will be moving to a new local home, up to a 15-mile radius of Aviation House, to minimise disruption for our valued colleagues and customers.

We are now working with colleagues and visitors to understand what we need in our new office, before we start our property search. We will sell Aviation House and land, vacate the site and move to new premises, but we do not expect to move before 2028.
