Job description

This is a varied technical role supporting a mix of hardware, software, networking and Linux/Unix-based systems, including specialist camera technology and associated back-office systems., You’ll be responsible for:

Installing and configuring hardware and software
Diagnosing and troubleshooting technical faults
Supporting Linux/Unix-based devices and systems
Using Linux / shell commands to query and diagnose equipment
Troubleshooting networking issues, including TCP/IP and network ports
Supporting specialist/proprietary software and systems
Investigating issues between remote devices and back-office systems
Speaking directly with customers to resolve technical problems
Producing clear technical documentation
Escalating more complex issues where required

Requirements

Ideally, you’ll have experience in Technical Support, Systems Support, Infrastructure Support or 2nd Line Support, with exposure to:

Linux or Unix
Shell / command-line troubleshooting
Networking / TCP-IP / network ports
Hardware and software installation/configuration
Technical fault-finding
Customer-facing support
Technical documentation
