AI Implementation Specialist

The AI Implementation Specialist will design, build, and maintain AI-powered tools and workflows that automate manual processes across the business. This is a hands-on building role. Approximately 80% of the time will be spent developing solutions within AI platforms such as ChatGPT and Claude, and approximately 20% coordinating with team members to roll those solutions out. The position reports to the CTO/COO.

Initial projects include:

• Customer service request management. Build a human-in-the-loop system that captures incoming requests from email, WhatsApp, and phone, routes them to the appropriate team member, tracks follow-up, and confirms resolution.
• Billing. Automate invoice generation, invoice auditing, and billing status tracking.
• Later phases. Service-level (SLA) tracking and warehouse operations processes.

Responsibilities

• Identify manual, repetitive, or error-prone processes and propose practical AI-based solutions
• Design, build, test, and maintain automations, agents, scheduled tasks, and workflows within AI platforms (ChatGPT, Claude, and similar tools)
• Evaluate and integrate complementary automation tools (for example, Zapier or Make) where appropriate
• Take ownership of assigned problems from initial discussion through delivery, including testing and iteration based on feedback
• Document workflows and tools so that team members can use and maintain them
• Communicate progress, options, and trade-offs clearly to leadership and end users

• Demonstrated hands-on experience building solutions with AI platforms such as ChatGPT or Claude, including agents, custom GPTs or projects, scheduled tasks, or automated workflows
• Ability to take a loosely defined business problem and deliver a working solution with minimal supervision
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage several projects at once
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• An understanding of business processes and how to improve them
• Comfort working with systems and data; programming experience is not required

• Annual salary: $80,000 (full-time, exempt)

Work Location and Schedule

This is a hybrid position. Our office is currently located in Ridgefield, NJ, and will be relocating to the Edison/Somerset area. The role is primarily on-site, with one to two remote days per week. Candidates should be located within commuting distance of northern or central New Jersey.

Lab3 is a third-party logistics (3PL) provider offering direct-to-consumer and wholesale fulfillment services from our New Jersey facility. We are a small, hands-on team, and we are investing in AI tools to improve how we manage customer service, billing, and warehouse operations.
