Mainframe Developer

This role involves driving the AI-enabled modernization of mainframe z/OS vulnerability patching. The senior engineer will develop agent-based automation to accelerate remediation and reduce security risk. This position requires a specific start date due to business needs., * Lead the design and development of AI-driven automation frameworks for z/OS patching.

• Build and deploy agent-based workflows to orchestrate vulnerability remediation at scale.
• Integrate AI agents with mainframe systems, APIs, and security tooling.
• Partner with infrastructure and security teams to prioritize and execute patching initiatives.
• Ensure the reliability, scalability, and operational readiness of automation solutions.

• 10+ years of experience in mainframe infrastructure engineering, including z/OS, IMS, CICS, and DB2 installation and testing.
• Hands-on experience developing AI/agent-based automation frameworks and agents.
• Strong Python programming skills in enterprise environments.
• Experience developing and integrating with z/OSMF and z/OS Connect APIs.
• Experience operating in large-scale enterprise infrastructure environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with agent-based or autonomous system architectures.
• Experience with mainframe tooling supporting end-to-end vulnerability patching.
• Exposure to AIOps or AI applied to mainframe infrastructure operations.

Work Environment

This position requires a hybrid schedule with a minimum of three days per week onsite. Approved locations for this role are Plano, TX; Jersey City, NJ; and Charlotte, NC.
