As part of this transformation, NSS and NES have joined to form a new organisation: Public Services Delivery Scotland (PSD Scotland). This new organisation will play a pivotal role in supporting the renewal and ensuring the long-term sustainability of health and care services across Scotland.
About the Organisation: PSD Scotland unites expertise from NES and NSS in a way that will allow us to accelerate national programmes to support the NHS to deliver better care, now and in the future.
We support staff with education and training, provide the tools and data that improve services, and run vital national functions such as procurement, logistics and blood, tissue and cell services., This is an exciting opportunity to join our Data & Analytics team as a Technical Specialist within our Enablement Service, contributing to the design, build and ongoing support of high-quality data solutions that underpin national services.
Working within a multidisciplinary environment, the postholder will play a key role across the full product lifecycle - from understanding business requirements and designing data architectures, through to development, deployment and ongoing optimisation of data products.
You will work closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders to translate complex business needs into robust, scalable data and analytics solutions. This includes developing data pipelines, building and maintaining data warehousing solutions, and delivering insightful reporting and visualisation outputs to support decision making.
The role involves working within modern delivery frameworks such as Agile and DevOps, contributing to delivery planning, and ensuring solutions are implemented to a high technical standard. You will also support continuous improvement activities, troubleshoot complex issues, and contribute to the ongoing evolution of our data platforms.
As part of a collaborative team, you will share knowledge, support less experienced colleagues, and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement
Requirements
We are looking for a motivated and skilled technical specialist with demonstrable experience in designing, developing and implementing data and analytics solutions.
You will have strong technical capability, including experience in data warehousing, ETL/ELT development, and working with structured and semi-structured data, alongside advanced SQL skills.
You will be confident in translating business requirements into technical solutions and delivering high-quality outputs to solve complex problems.
Experience of working across the full delivery lifecycle within Agile, DevOps or similar frameworks is essential, along with the ability to plan and manage your own workload and contribute effectively within a team environment.
You will have experience of collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders and communicating complex technical concepts clearly to different audiences.

- A collaborative mindset, with experience of supporting or mentoring colleagues
Desirable experience includes working with modern data platforms, cloud technologies and tools such as Power BI or similar, as well as awareness of emerging trends in data and analytics.
