Job description

We are looking for a talented Senior .NET Developer to join a growing software house in the middle of a proper growth phase: five technical hires this year, new testing and project management functions being built out, and more businesses joining their platform over the next couple of years.

Working alongside a small team, you will take ownership of an established platform that runs the daily operations of several independent businesses within a larger group. A full stack developer reports to you, so you will review their work and help them grow whilst staying in the code every day, and you will own the relationship with the people who use the system, working out what they need next and building it. People stay here - one leaver in the last ten years.

On a typical day, you will be building new features in C# and ASP.NET Core, standing up Entity Framework models from scratch, hand-writing and tuning SQL Server queries and schemas, reviewing your developer’s pull requests and talking directly to the businesses on the platform about what comes next. Your work goes straight into daily use across the group.

Requirements

As our ideal candidate, you will have strong commercial C# with ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework you can build with from a blank project, real strength in SQL Server across schema design and hand-written query tuning, working front-end skills across HTML, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery, REST API experience and disciplined Git habits within an agile team. You may have led or mentored a developer before; if you have not, you will want to, because growing one is part of this job.

Whilst this role leans towards the backend, experience with domain driven design, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, very large datasets or BI integrations is highly advantageous.
