Job description

  • Act as first point of contact for IT support requests via phone, email, in person, or through the support process.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Windows PCs, laptops, printers, mobile devices, applications, and network connectivity.
  • Log, prioritise, update, and document support requests, escalating complex issues to the IT Manager or external suppliers as needed.
  • Provide clear, patient, and practical guidance to users, promoting confident and secure use of business systems.
  • Assist with user account administration, permissions, password resets, MFA setup, onboarding, and leaver processes.
  • Support licensing, software installation, updates, and access requests across business-critical applications.
  • Maintain PCs, laptops, printers, mobile devices, network equipment, and site connectivity.
  • Conduct routine checks on backups, endpoint protection, patching, security tools, and system availability.
  • Help improve the use of the Microsoft Suite and other digital tools across departments.
  • Maintain accurate IT documentation, asset records, support notes, and user guidance.
  • Assist the IT Manager with technology improvement projects, supplier coordination, and practical rollout activities.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in an IT support, helpdesk, service desk, or technician role.
  • Working knowledge of Windows devices, Microsoft 365, basic networking, printers, mobile devices, and common business applications.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues methodically, document fixes clearly, and escalate appropriately when required.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-service mindset when supporting users at all levels of the business.
  • Organised, reliable, and able to prioritise support requests in a busy operational environment.
  • Valid UK driver’s licence.
  • HND in Computing or equivalent qualification.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with ERP transitions or upgrade programmes.
  • Experience in a construction, manufacturing, operational, technical, or production-based environment.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID, Azure, endpoint security, backup tools, or ticketing systems.
  • Interest in automation, reporting, process improvement, or digital workflow tools..
