Job description

We are seeking an experienced PHP/MySQL developer with strong skills in PHP microservices development, MySQL database management, and cloud infrastructure to provide operational and technical support for an existing REDCap application hosted on AWS. This resource will handle maintenance, troubleshooting, version upgrades, user support, vendor coordination, and integration work to keep the platform secure, reliable, and highly available.

This role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, infrastructure teams, cloud administrators, security teams, and the REDCap platform’s support organization., * Support a REDCap application hosted in AWS, including user/project management, reports, and surveys

  • Coordinate and implement REDCap software updates, patches, and version upgrades
  • Install, configure, and support REDCap External Modules using PHP on Linux/AWS (Apache/Nginx)
  • Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot REDCap API integrations with internal and external systems; automate data flows
  • Serve as primary technical contact for REDCap-related issues
  • Implement and maintain OIDC integration, Active Directory/LDAP, and SSL/TLS certificates
  • Prepare scripts to load data into REDCap via the Data Import Tool or REDCap APIs
  • Coordinate with cloud infrastructure teams on servers, storage, networking, security groups, backups, and monitoring
  • Provide day-to-day operational support, troubleshooting, documentation, and training
  • Monitor application performance; proactively identify and resolve issues
  • Support disaster recovery, backup validation, and system recovery
  • Develop automation scripts for reporting and data validation (PHP/SQL)
  • Maintain MySQL databases; perform queries and validation
  • Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and configuration records
  • Ensure compliance with security standards, data privacy requirements, HIPAA compliance, and audit logging
  • Track work items (enhancements, defects, upgrades, maintenance) in the team’s work-tracking system, maintaining priorities, assignments, and status reporting

Requirements

Location Requirement: Candidate must reside within 90 miles of Lansing, MI (48933) at time of submission - hard requirement., Top Required Skills:

  • 5+ years of PHP Microservices development, configuration, and troubleshooting
  • 5+ years of MySQL database management
  • 5+ years of PHP configuration and troubleshooting
  • 5+ years of Python scripting for loading and querying data
  • 5+ years designing, developing, implementing, and troubleshooting RESTful APIs
  • 5+ years supporting enterprise web applications hosted on AWS

Top Preferred Skills:

  • Experience supporting REDCap in a public health, healthcare, higher education, or research environment
  • Experience with REDCap API integration and External Modules implementation
  • Experience with Twilio/SMS survey gateway

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
