Sr. Software Engineer

We are seeking a hands-on Senior Software Engineer to support the modernization and maintenance of a mission-critical enterprise application in AWS GovCloud (FedRAMP High). This role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical engineering work and thrives in a fast-paced environment focused on innovation and reliability., Hands-On Development Design and implement microservices using Java/Spring Boot and TypeScript, supporting event-driven and RESTful integration patterns. Build solutions leveraging AWS GovCloud services, including ECS/EKS, Lambda, EventBridge, and RDS, within microservices and micro-frontend architecture. Address technical debt by upgrading outdated dependencies and frameworks. Ensure comprehensive test automation using UI testing and behavior-driven development (BDD) approaches. Collaboration & Communication Work closely with enterprise architects and scrum teams to translate architectural vision into practical, scalable solutions. Apply reusable patterns and best practices to ensure architectural consistency across teams. Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical discussions aligned with enterprise standards. Demonstrate strong technical writing and communication skills to document designs, articulate complex ideas, and share knowledge effectively. Problem Solving Tackle challenging engineering problems with creative and pragmatic solutions. Troubleshoot issues, optimize performance, and deliver robust features that meet production stability requirements.

Required 5+ years of software engineering experience, with a strong focus on hands-on development. Advanced proficiency in Java and Spring Boot ecosystem. Experience in AWS Cloud, including ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS/Aurora, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as CDK or CloudFormation. Experience with Angular; familiarity with micro-frontend architecture (module federation) is a plus. Demonstrated background in microservices architecture, including modernization of legacy applications using patterns like the strangler pattern. Strong technical writing and communication skills, with the ability to document designs and articulate complex ideas clearly. Excellent problem-solving skills and collaborative approach to working with cross functional teams. Demonstrated comfort with AI-enabled tools, coupled with a willingness to learn and apply emerging technologies to improve productivity and business outcomes. Preferred Experience working in FedRAMP High, FISMA, or similar compliance environments. Track record of reducing technical debt through dependency upgrades, refactoring, and test automation. Expertise in CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI/CD), artifact management, and security scanning. Familiarity with observability tools such as CloudWatch, Grafana, and OpenSearch.
