PC Technician

The PC Technician provides comprehensive IT support services to the United States Attorney’s Office (USAO), Eastern District of North Carolina. This role supports day-to-day operations of IT systems, ensuring reliable performance of hardware, software, and network infrastructure while delivering high-quality customer support to end users., * Provide technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices

• Install, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot hardware and software systems
• Support network operations including routers, switches, and servers
• Perform system maintenance, updates, and patch management
• Diagnose and resolve recurring technical issues for end users
• Assist with system administration and network monitoring activities
• Provide user training and guidance on standard applications and systems
• Support telecommunications systems, including teleconferencing tools
• Maintain and manage file systems, directories, and access permissions
• Assist in cybersecurity efforts, including monitoring compliance with security protocols
• Support basic web/intranet updates using HTML/XML as needed
• Track and manage IT equipment and property records
• Coordinate installation, relocation, and inventory of IT assets
• Generate reports and assist with data analysis and documentation

• U.S. Citizenship (required)
• High school diploma or equivalent (minimum)
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant IT support experience
• Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking fundamentals
• Experience troubleshooting Windows-based systems and common applications
• Ability to provide professional, customer-focused support
• Strong organizational and communication skills, * Experience in a government or legal environment
• Familiarity with network administration and cybersecurity practices
• Basic scripting or web content management experience
• Experience with property or asset management systems
