Job description
This position sits within the Infrastructure organization and reports through IT Operations. This team is looking for a highly autonomous Senior Network Engineer who can immediately step into a hands-on role supporting enterprise network infrastructure. The engineer will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing networking operations across 65 locations, including 20 office locations and 45 job sites, while partnering closely with Infrastructure, Security, and IT Operations teams. The ideal candidate will serve as a true hands-on technical resource, owning firewall administration, routing, switching, wireless networking, network monitoring, and network security initiatives. They will work primarily within a large on-premises environment that is gradually adopting cloud technologies and expanding its Azure footprint. Success in this role will require someone who can take initiative, influence technical direction, solve complex infrastructure challenges independently, and operate effectively with minimal supervision. This is not an environment where work is heavily prescribed; the team is seeking someone who can identify problems, drive solutions, and act as a trusted technical leader from day one.

Requirements
10+ years of Network Engineering experience.
Firewall management (preferably with FortiGate) - Hands on experiencing managing FortiGate firewall with FortiManager Cloud. Provide administration, monitoring, and regular maintenance. Work with network & security team on policy enforcement and threat prevention features.
Routing protocols - Improve network operation and resiliency with routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF. Redistribution between routing protocols.
SD-WAN (preferably with FortiGate) - Hands-on experience deploying, configuring, and supporting Fortinet SD-WAN solutions, including FortiGate installation, WAN link configuration, SD-WAN zones and rules, performance SLA monitoring, routing, VPN connectivity, security policies, troubleshooting, and ongoing network optimization.
Campus switching - Design, configure, and optimize enterprise switching environments to improve network performance, resiliency, scalability, and security utilizing LACP, VLAN, STP, HA technologies. Apply switching security best practices, including access-port controls, VLAN segmentation, and Layer 2 protections, while troubleshooting connectivity, performance, and redundancy issues across the switching infrastructure.
Wireless - Track performance and troubleshoot connection issues (e.g. authentication failures, weak signal).
Network Access Control (NAC) - Experience supporting EAP-TLS based authentication with RADIUS.
Enterprise Network Monitoring - Deploy an enterprise-wide network monitoring solution to provide centralized, real-time visibility into network availability, performance, traffic, and security across the organization.
Experience managing and supporting enterprise-wide, multi-location network environments. Hands-on IT support expertise in new office buildouts, including MDF network infrastructure deployment, internet service activation, wireless network configuration, and network printer HPE/Aruba Network solutions - switching, wireless, ClearPass, and Aruba Central.
Experience deploying and supporting SD-WAN/SASE solutions.
Deployed dynamic routing protocols to optimize enterprise network performance, resilience, and operations.
Enhanced security by developing data center network traffic visibility solutions (e.g. application dependency mapping and/or micro-segmentation).
Layer 2/VLAN stretching between data centers.
Experience with Palo Alto, Cisco, and Check Point firewalls.
Experience working in a highly on-prem infrastructure environment with ongoing cloud transformation initiatives.
