Java Engineers Wanted for Major Digital Transformation Programme We’re looking for Java Engineers across a range of experience levels to join a large-scale transformation programme delivering modern, enterprise-grade digital services. Whether you’re an engineer with a few years of commercial experience or a more senior professional looking to take ownership of complex technical workstreams, there are opportunities available to match your level of expertise. You’ll be joining an Agile engineering environment focused on building scalable, cloud-based applications using modern Java technologies and engineering best practices. What You’ll Be Doing

• Designing, developing and maintaining Java-based applications and microservices.
• Building solutions using Java (JDK 11+) and Spring Boot.
• Developing secure, scalable and maintainable services within cloud environments.
• Working closely with engineering, architecture, DevOps and testing teams.
• Participating in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews and retrospectives.
• Following engineering best practices including CI/CD, TDD and code quality standards.
• Supporting the ongoing evolution of modern microservice architectures.
• Contributing to technical design, solution delivery and continuous improvement activities.

For More Senior Engineers You may also:

• Lead technical workstreams and complex deliveries.
• Mentor junior engineers.
• Conduct code reviews and promote engineering best practices.
• Support solution design and technical decision-making.
• Collaborate closely with architects and stakeholders on strategic technical initiatives.

Technical Requirements We’re interested in candidates with experience in:

• Java (JDK 11+)
• Spring Boot
• Microservices Architecture
• AWS or Public Cloud Platforms
• REST APIs
• CI/CD Pipelines
• Agile / Scrum Delivery

Experience with any of the following would be beneficial:

• Docker
• Kubernetes
• Oracle WebLogic
• Test Driven Development (TDD)
• Enterprise-scale systems and integrations

Java Engineer £35,000 - £50,000 Typically suited to engineers with approximately 2-5 years of commercial experience. Senior Java Engineer / Technical Lead £45,000 - £65,000 Typically suited to engineers with 5-10+ years of commercial experience and technical leadership capability.

• Likelihood of permanent employment or extension beyond the initial term.
• Hybrid working model.
• Newcastle based with 3 days onsite per week.
• Relocation support available where required.
• Must be eligible for UK Security Clearance.
