NC FAST Junior Java Developer/Test Engineer

Support development and implementation of NC FAST Operations and Maintenance for the FNS Program at NC DHHS.

• Contribute to the full lifecycle of Java-based applications in a collaborative team environment.
• Write, develop, and execute manual and automated test scripts using TOSCA, junit, and jmockit.
• Perform manual testing and automated testing to ensure software quality.
• Assist senior developers in building, testing, debugging, and maintaining Java applications and features.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following industry standards and best practices.
• Participate in code reviews; provide and receive constructive feedback.
• Work with databases, including executing SQL for validation and integration into applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and implement solutions.
• Debug and resolve software defects to ensure application stability.
• Contribute to system documentation and process improvement initiatives.

Apply knowledge of SDLC and Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).

• Utilize development tools such as Eclipse, Git, RSA, and testing tools like HP Test Director/Quality Center, QTP, NeoLoad, and qTest.
• Demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Preferably possess knowledge of Curam application, FNS/SNAP Program policy, front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), Spring Framework, Hibernate, and UNIX platforms.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
• Engage effectively with system developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders.
