Analytics Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer / Analytics Engineer who can bridge the gap between business needs and technical execution.

This role requires someone who is equally comfortable meeting with business stakeholders to understand operational challenges and requirements as they are rolling up their sleeves to build the technical solution.

The ideal candidate will take ownership of existing eCommerce and operational data processes, help modernize processes that currently rely on manual or short-term solutions, and build scalable data pipelines, dashboards, and data applications.

This is not a purely heads-down Data Engineering role. We need someone who can independently understand the business problem, ask the right questions, translate those needs into technical requirements, and then personally build and deliver the solution.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner directly with business and eCommerce stakeholders to understand business processes, requirements, reporting needs, and operational pain points.

• Translate business requirements into scalable technical data solutions.

• Own solutions from initial requirements gathering and data discovery through development, delivery, and ongoing support.

• Design, build, and maintain reliable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.

• Develop data processing and automation solutions using Python and SQL.

• Work with Snowflake to transform, model, and prepare data for analytics and operational use cases.

• Build interactive dashboards and data applications, ideally using Streamlit.

• Help replace manual, inefficient, or temporary processes with more sustainable and automated solutions.

• Support existing operational data processes while also developing new capabilities.

• Troubleshoot data quality, pipeline, reporting, and production issues.

• Partner with business stakeholders to define KPIs and ensure dashboards provide meaningful and actionable insights.

Strong experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, or a similar data-focused position.

• Strong hands-on development experience with Python.

• Strong SQL skills.

• Experience designing and developing data pipelines and ETL/ELT solutions.

• Experience developing dashboards, analytics solutions, or business-facing data applications.

• Demonstrated experience working directly with business stakeholders to gather and clarify requirements.

• Ability to understand a business problem and independently translate it into an appropriate technical solution.

• Experience working with multiple data sources and transforming raw data into usable datasets.

• Experience troubleshooting production data and operational issues.

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work effectively and independently in a remote environment. - Strong Snowflake experience.

• Experience building applications or interactive dashboards using Streamlit.

• Experience with dbt for data transformation and modeling.

• Experience with Master Data Management (MDM) concepts or platforms.

• Previous experience supporting eCommerce, retail, product, or operational data.

• Experience automating manual business processes and developing self-service analytics solutions.

Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Pay Rate: $55.00-$65.00 an hour depending on skills and experience.
