IT Project Manager

Senior IT Project Manager - £700-£750 per day pay - Inside IR35 - Hybrid working from Derby - 6 months initial contract.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Project Manager to join an exciting and rapidly growing organisation at the forefront of the UK’s small modular reactor (SMR) industry.

This is a key role within the data and digital function, responsible for providing the overall orchestration, coordination and programme management of an integrated portfolio of data projects. Alongside this portfolio-level responsibility, you will take direct ownership of a major strategic initiative: Digital Twin Phase 1.

This is an opportunity to join an organisation at an exciting stage of its development, helping establish the data, digital and technology capabilities required to support the delivery of a new generation of nuclear energy., As Senior Data Project Manager, you will provide senior-level delivery leadership across a portfolio of interconnected data initiatives, ensuring projects are effectively coordinated, dependencies are managed and delivery remains aligned to wider business and digital objectives.

You will work closely with senior stakeholders across technology, engineering, data, business and programme teams, providing clear visibility of progress, risks, dependencies and priorities.

You will also act as the Project Manager for Digital Twin Phase 1, taking responsibility for planning, coordinating and delivering the project through to successful implementation., * Lead the overall orchestration and programme management of an integrated portfolio of data projects.

• Provide a consolidated view of delivery progress, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues and resource requirements across the portfolio.
• Establish effective governance, reporting and delivery controls across data initiatives.
• Coordinate dependencies between data, digital, engineering, technology and business projects.
• Ensure projects remain aligned to strategic business and data objectives.
• Take direct responsibility for the end-to-end delivery of Digital Twin Phase 1.
• Develop and maintain project plans, delivery roadmaps, RAID logs and governance documentation.
• Coordinate internal teams, technical specialists, suppliers and third-party partners where required.
• Manage project risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies, escalating appropriately.
• Facilitate project and programme governance forums and provide clear reporting to senior leadership.
• Ensure delivery milestones, budgets, resources and outcomes are effectively managed.
• Identify opportunities to improve delivery processes, project controls and ways of working.
• Translate complex technical and data-related activity into clear delivery plans and concise stakeholder reporting.
• Support the development of a scalable project and programme management approach across the wider data function.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Project Manager / Data Programme Manager with a strong track record of delivering complex data and digital projects within large or technically complex organisations.

You will be comfortable operating at both portfolio and project level - able to provide senior-level oversight across multiple initiatives while also getting into the detail required to successfully deliver a critical project such as Digital Twin Phase 1.

You will ideally have:

• Proven experience managing complex data, digital or technology projects and programmes.
• Experience managing portfolios containing multiple interconnected projects.
• Strong programme and project governance experience.
• Demonstrable experience managing dependencies across multiple teams and workstreams.
• Experience delivering projects involving data platforms, data integration, information management, digital engineering or digital transformation.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, including experience working with senior leadership and technical stakeholders.
• Excellent planning, organisation and delivery management skills.
• Experience managing project risks, issues, budgets, resources and third-party suppliers.
• The ability to operate effectively in a rapidly changing and developing organisation.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical information for non-technical stakeholders.

Experience of Digital Twin, engineering data, asset information, BIM, PLM, data platforms or digital engineering environments would be highly advantageous.

Experience within nuclear, energy, engineering, infrastructure or another highly regulated/technically complex environment would also be beneficial.
