Data Migration Lead - Central Government

The Data Migration Lead will provide leadership and direction for the planning, coordination and assurance of HR data migration activity across the programme. You will be responsible for shaping and driving the approach to data cleansing, data mapping, attribute validation, reconciliation and migration readiness, ensuring activity is aligned to programme milestones, business priorities and the future Oracle Fusion application landscape.

This role requires more than technical data knowledge. You will work across military and civilian stakeholder groups, delivery partner teams and programme governance forums to ensure that data migration is properly understood, appropriately resourced and delivered to the required standard.

You will play a key role in establishing the ways of working, governance and assurance mechanisms needed to support high-quality data migration. You will help the programme make informed decisions about data quality, source-to-target mapping, validation, reconciliation and migration risk, ensuring sensitive people data is handled securely and effectively throughout.

• Experience leading or coordinating data migration, data management, data cleansing or data quality activity in a complex programme or transformation environment.
• Strong understanding of data migration principles, including data profiling, cleansing, mapping, validation, reconciliation and cutover readiness.
• Experience working with large or complex datasets, with the ability to identify data quality issues and turn analysis into practical action.
• Experience establishing governance, controls or assurance arrangements to improve data quality, consistency and confidence.
• Ability to lead through others, set direction, manage priorities and maintain delivery grip across multiple stakeholder groups.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience working across business, technical and delivery partner teams.
• Ability to communicate complex data or technical issues clearly to non-technical audiences, including senior stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with sound judgement and the ability to make evidence-based recommendations.
• Understanding of data protection, information security and the need to handle sensitive people data appropriately.
• Confidence working in a changing programme environment, managing ambiguity, risks, issues and dependencies.
