Secret VDI Admin

Insight Global is seeking a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Administrator to join a leading federal customer in Key West, FL. This individual will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise VDI environments while ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability for end users. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting VMware Horizon, Citrix, or Microsoft RDS environments, strong virtualization expertise, and a proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex VDI issues. An active Secret clearance is required., Design, implement, and maintain virtual desktop infrastructure environments.

• Configure and manage virtual machines, desktop templates, and VDI host pools.
• Monitor system performance, resource utilization, and overall VDI health.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to virtual desktops, applications, and user connectivity.
• Administer virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V.
• Perform capacity planning, backups, disaster recovery, and system upgrades.
• Implement and maintain security best practices across the VDI environment.
• Provide advanced support for complex VDI-related incidents and performance optimization initiatives.

5+ years of hands-on VDI administration experience.

• Experience with VMware Horizon, Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops, and/or Microsoft Remote Desktop Services (RDS).
• Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies including VMware vSphere and Hyper-V.
• Experience troubleshooting enterprise VDI environments.
• Understanding of networking, storage, and security concepts related to VDI.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of degree).
• Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Citrix CCP-V, or similar certification.
• Master’s degree in a related technical field.

$50/hr-$60/hr

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
