Cyber Systems Security Engineering - E2

Applicant is expected to conduct a range of cyber risk analysis and security assessment methods; implement patches and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to address cyber vulnerabilities, feature changes, or obsolescence; develop documentation for specific installations and configurations necessary to obtain Authorizations to Operation (ATOs) in support of program schedules; and contribute to and implement Plans of Actions and Milestones (POAMs) to mitigate open cyber risks.

The ideal candidate will communicate effectively with a range of audiences, technical and non-technical, and will function effectively on an engineering team to create a collaborative environment that allows for the establishment of mission goals, itemized planning of tasks, and prioritization of tasks that drives the efficient execution of objectives.

Must be a US citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Responsible for applying an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop, validate and verify Cyber solutions across the lifecycle. Conduct cyber risk assessment activities including threat modeling, vulnerability analysis and analysis of mitigation solutions. Coordinates and addresses Supply Chain risk management concerns. Develop, evaluate and analyze design constrains, trade-offs and detailed system and security design as they pertain to the Cyber domain. Coordinate with Cyber and system architects and developers to provide oversight in the development of solutions. Conduct cybersecurity test and evaluation of hardware and/or software designs to verify and validate compliance with defined specifications and requirements. Employs cyber security processes, methods, techniques and tools and assure their consistent application. Implements appropriate Assessment and Authorization activities as required by customers. USE OF THIS CLASSIFICATION REQUIRES AUTHORIZATION FROM THE BUSINESS AREA CYBER DIRECTOR OR DELEGATE

• Active Secret Clearance
• DoD 8140 Level II or higher certificate or such as CompTIA Security+ CE, CySA, CASP, GSEC, CISSP.
• B.S. degree in a technical discipline such as Cyber Security, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Security, or Information Technology - or equivalent applied experience
• Ability to travel as required

Desired Skills

• DoD Classified or SAP Experience
• Proven hands-on implementation across design, build, hardening, and sustainment phases.
• Proficient with enterprise cybersecurity tools-including Tenable Nessus/ACAS for vulnerability management, Trellix ePolicy Orchestrator (HBSS) for endpoint security, and SIEM platforms for centralized logging, correlation, and audit support.
• Strong knowledge of Windows AD, RHEL-based Linux, and secure configuration management aligned to STIG baselines.
• Provide hands-on technical implementation and enforcement-beyond documentation-covering vulnerability remediation, audit readiness, and rigorous control validation.
• Skilled in vulnerability and compliance analysis, interpreting scan results and driving remediation across system, network, and application layers.
• Proven ability to work with engineering, network, and platform teams to embed security.
• Knowledge of container security practices: image scanning, hardening, and secure CI/CD deployment pipelines.

Full-Time Salary Range: $81100.00 - $150500.00
