Job description
As we continue to deliver ambitious programmes that improve experiences for our customers and colleagues, weâre looking for an experienced Senior Business Change Manager to play a pivotal role in ensuring change is successfully adopted, embedded and sustained across the business. As our Senior Business Change Manager, youâll lead the people, process and behavioural aspects of business change activity across a portfolio of complex strategic programmes and projects. Youâll be responsible for ensuring our colleagues, customers and stakeholders are prepared, engaged and supported throughout the change journey, helping us realise the full benefits of transformation. Youâll provide expert leadership ensuring that organisational readiness, stakeholder engagement, communications, training and benefit realisation are effectively planned and delivered. Working closely with programme teams, senior leaders, frontline colleagues, trade unions and external partners, youâll ensure change is delivered effectively, minimising disruption while maximising engagement, adoption and long-term benefit realisation. Youâll also be involved in;

Providing expert advice and guidance on change management best practice.
- Leading change impact assessments and organisational readiness activities.
- Developing readiness, adoption and transition plans to support successful implementation.
- Monitoring organisational preparedness and recommend interventions where required.

Influencing and coaching leaders to become effective change champions.
- Facilitating workshops, consultation activities and engagement forums that drive understanding and commitment.

Proactively identifying and managing resistance to change.
- Working with subject matter experts and learning teams to identify capability requirements.

Monitoring adoption metrics and benefits realisation, ensuring corrective action is taken where necessary.
- Providing business change reporting and insight to programme boards and senior stakeholders.
- Supporting assurance reviews, audits and governance activities.
- Providing coaching, mentoring and leadership to Business Change Managers and project teams where required.
- Championing collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement across the change community.
Requirements
Youâll be passionate about making change meaningful, creating positive experiences for colleagues and helping LNER deliver better outcomes for our customers and our people. Weâre looking for someone who has:
- Proven experience of leading large scale business change initiatives, balancing multiple priorities and programmes at the same time.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to operate credibly with senior leaders and executive stakeholders.
- Experience of leading cross-functional teams without direct authority.
- Experience of developing and delivering change and communication strategies.
- Strong understanding of programme and project delivery methodologies.
- Experience undertaking organisational readiness and impact assessments.
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
It would be great if you also have:
- A recognised Change Management qualification, such as Prosci, APMG, CMI or equivalent.
- A Programme or Project Management qualification, such as MSP, PRINCE2, Agile or equivalent.
- Experience within transport, rail or regulated industries.
- Experience of organisational design, culture change or operating model transformation.

Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check At LNER, safety is our top priority. Once complete, this will go directly to our in-house Health and Wellbeing team who will contact you to arrange a convenient location, date and time for your medical appointment.
