Cloud Software Developer (AWS) - AI-Accelerated Development

Linchpin Software is looking for a Cloud Software Developer to join a small team building an automated, self-service platform on AWS for enterprise developers. The work is real software engineering: services, APIs, and automation in Python, TypeScript, or Java, deployed with infrastructure as code. Developers across the enterprise will get what they need in minutes instead of weeks because of what you build.

We build software differently. Our engineers use AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Codex, GitLab Duo) every day to design, code, test, and debug faster. You’ll spend your time solving problems, not writing boilerplate.

What You’ll Do:

• Write the services, APIs, and automation behind a self-service developer platform
• Build on AWS: Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/EKS, S3, IAM, Step Functions, and more
• Define infrastructure as code (Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormation) and ship through CI/CD
• Own features end to end, from design to production to supporting real users
• Troubleshoot production issues and fix what’s broken for the developers who rely on it
• Use AI coding agents daily to multiply what you can deliver

• Active Top Secret clearance
• 5+ years of professional software development or DevOps engineering experience
• Strong coding skills in at least one of Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, Java, or Go
• Hands-on AWS experience
• Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CDK, CloudFormation, or similar)
• Ability to work full-time, on-site in Washington, DC (20024)

Preferred:

• Experience supporting production systems and user-facing applications
• Serverless and container experience (Lambda, Docker, Kubernetes/EKS)
• CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
• REST API design and development
• AWS certification (Developer, SysOps, or Solutions Architect)
• Already using AI-assisted coding tools, or eager to start
