Job description
We are looking for a Technical Delivery & Automation Coordinator to support the successful delivery of Project Reach, our programme to provide 4G/5G connectivity across major UK rail infrastructure. Working closely with project teams, engineers and suppliers, you’ll help coordinate technical delivery activities, maintain project controls and support the production of design documentation.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys bringing order to complex projects, improving processes and using technology to make teams more efficient. You’ll play a key role in keeping projects on track while helping introduce smarter ways of working through automation and digital tools., * Coordinate project activities across design, procurement, approvals and delivery.
- Maintain project trackers, registers, risks, issues and actions.
- Support document control and ensure project information is accurate and up to date.
- Coordinate technical reviews, meetings and stakeholder communications.
- Prepare project reports, presentations and status updates.
- Support the preparation and management of technical and design documentation.
- Carry out quality and version control checks on project documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce manual processes.
- Use Microsoft 365, Power Automate, Copilot and other digital tools to streamline workflows and reporting.
- Build effective relationships with engineers, suppliers and project stakeholders.
Requirements
- Degree, higher apprenticeship or equivalent experience in engineering, telecommunications, technology, project delivery, construction or a related discipline.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint.
- Understanding of document control and information management principles.
- Knowledge of engineering, infrastructure or telecommunications environments would be beneficial.
- Familiarity with Power Platform, automation tools or AI-enabled productivity tools is advantageous.
Skills and Experience
- We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate:
- The ability to work confidently with technical information and learn new concepts quickly.
- A proactive approach to problem solving and driving actions through to completion.
- Confidence using technology to improve processes and ways of working.
- Experience maintaining trackers, reports, registers and project documentation.
- Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail.
- Experience managing multiple tasks, deadlines and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a wider team
Desirable Experience
- Engineering, telecommunications, rail, utilities, construction or infrastructure projects.
- Technical document control, design coordination or supplier management.
- Power Automate, Power Query, advanced Excel or similar automation tools.
- CAD, GIS, iBwave, Ranplan or related technical platforms.
- Project delivery or engineering governance environments
