Computerized Maintenance Management Systems Reliability Engineering

Job description

  • Develop and optimize Preventive Maintenance (PM) programs for industrial equipment and machinery.
  • Apply Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) methodology to evaluate assets and determine appropriate maintenance strategies.
  • Break down equipment into individual components/parts and evaluate potential failure modes, consequences, and maintenance requirements.
  • Review OEM manuals and maintenance recommendations and determine whether they adequately address the equipment’s actual operating conditions and reliability requirements.
  • Establish maintenance activities and frequencies designed to prevent equipment failures and maximize uptime.
  • Evaluate both standard and highly specialized/proprietary equipment where established maintenance strategies may not exist.
  • Work with maintenance and operations teams to translate reliability strategies into practical PM requirements.
  • Utilize a CMMS to document, manage, and optimize maintenance strategies and asset information.
  • Support continuous improvement of maintenance and reliability programs as equipment performance and operating history develop.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering - required.
  • Hands-on experience with Preventive Maintenance development and optimization.
  • Practical experience with Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM).
  • Experience evaluating industrial assets, equipment components, failure modes, and maintenance requirements.
  • Experience developing maintenance strategies with the goal of preventing equipment failure and improving reliability.
  • Experience working with a CMMS or computerized maintenance management system.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with eMaint or similar CMMS platforms.
  • Reliability engineering experience in a chemical, petrochemical, process, industrial, or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with specialized, proprietary, or newly developed equipment.
  • Experience evaluating OEM maintenance recommendations and developing site-specific maintenance strategies.

Recruiter Focus

MUST HAVE: Mechanical Engineering degree + PM Development + PM Optimization + RCM + asset/component evaluation + CMMS experience.

The ideal candidate is an engineer who understands why equipment fails and how to prevent it, rather than someone who simply manages an existing maintenance schedule.
