IT Systems Manager

We’re looking for a proactive and hands-on IT Systems Manager to become our in-house technology expert. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied role combining IT support, systems management, cyber security, digital transformation and AI enablement.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll take ownership of Skyline’s IT infrastructure and business systems, ensuring technology remains secure, reliable and fit for the future. You’ll work closely with colleagues across warehousing, sales, finance and leadership teams to improve how technology supports the business and identify opportunities to drive efficiency through digital tools and AI.

This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys solving problems, building relationships and making a visible impact within a growing business.

What you’ll be doing:

IT Operations & Support

Act as the primary point of contact for day-to-day IT support

Configure and maintain laptops, mobile devices, printers and other equipment

Manage IT onboarding, role changes and offboarding

Troubleshoot hardware, software, network and connectivity issues

Maintain IT assets, licences and user accounts

Liaise with external IT partners when specialist support is required

Business Systems & ERP Support

Support and administer core business systems and applications

Assist users with system queries and technical issues

Improve workflows, reporting, data quality and system utilisation

Support upgrades, integrations and ongoing system development

Create clear documentation and user guidance as required

Cyber Security & Compliance

Maintain secure access controls and permissions

Monitor technology risks and vulnerabilities

Support data protection and information security requirements

Promote cyber security awareness across the business

Support backup, disaster recovery and business continuity processes

AI & Digital Transformation

Support the responsible adoption of AI tools

Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement

Help colleagues build confidence using new technologies

Ensure AI usage aligns with business policies and security standards

Projects & Continuous Improvement

Lead smaller technology projects from concept through to implementation

Contribute to Skyline’s technology roadmap

Review systems, suppliers and licences to maximise value and effectiveness

Recommend improvements that enhance efficiency and user experience

Supplier Management

Manage relationships with IT, software and technology providers

Coordinate renewals, purchasing and service delivery

Provide updates to leadership on IT priorities, risks and opportunities

Essential

Experience in an IT support, systems administration or IT management role

Strong hands-on technical troubleshooting skills

Microsoft 365 administration experience

Experience supporting ERP or business systems (Oracle experience advantageous)

Understanding of cyber security, data protection and business continuity

Experience working with cloud technologies, including Microsoft Azure

Excellent problem solving and communication skills

Ability to work independently, prioritise workload and take ownership

Desirable

Experience supporting manufacturing, engineering or operational businesses

Experience delivering systems improvements or technology projects

Knowledge of automation or AI tools within a business setting
