Job description

  • Developing and maintaining responsive user interfaces using React and modern JavaScript frameworks
  • Building reusable components and implementing UI/UX designs from concept through to deployment
  • Working with APIs and microservices to integrate frontend applications with backend systems
  • Contributing to code quality through testing, code reviews and adherence to best practices
  • Collaborating with backend engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver seamless user experiences
  • Participating in CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployment workflows using Docker and Kubernetes
  • Optimizing application performance and ensuring accessibility standards across web platforms

Requirements

Most roles of this type require the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
  • Proven experience with React and modern JavaScript (ES6+), with working knowledge of frontend build tools and package management
  • Experience working with APIs and understanding of microservices architecture
  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD workflows
  • Understanding of HTML5, CSS3 and responsive design principles
  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to work collaboratively within agile teams
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail

Nice-to-have experience could include:

  • Meta Front-End Developer Certificate, freeCodeCamp Front End Libraries, or Google Mobile Web Specialist certification
  • Experience with Azure, AWS or cloud-based deployment platforms
  • Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
  • Experience with performance monitoring, accessibility standards (WCAG) and cross-browser compatibility
  • Familiarity with testing frameworks and test-driven development practices
