IT Technician

We are seeking a dynamic and proactive IT Technician to join our technology support team. • Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware components such as desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals to ensure optimal performance.
• Manage and support computer networks by configuring and maintaining LAN (Local Area Network), VPN (Virtual Private Network), DNS (Domain Name System), TCP/IP protocols, firewalls, and switches to ensure secure and reliable connectivity.
• Administer Active Directory for user account management, permissions, and group policies; utilize tools like SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager) for software deployment and updates.
• Assist with server management tasks involving Microsoft Windows Server environments and Linux-based systems to ensure high availability and security.
• Support software troubleshooting efforts for applications including Microsoft Office suite, ServiceNow, Jira, BMC Remedy, and other enterprise tools.
• Respond promptly to help desk tickets via platforms such as ServiceNow or Jira; document issues accurately and follow through with effective resolutions.
• Conduct analysis of system logs and network traffic to identify potential issues or security threats; implement necessary corrective actions.
• Collaborate with team members on network security measures including firewall configurations, DNS settings, and TCP/IP troubleshooting to uphold organizational security standards.

• Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts including LAN/WAN architecture, TCP/IP protocols, DNS management, VPN setup, and firewall configuration.
• Proven experience providing desktop support across multiple operating systems such as Windows (including Windows Server) and macOS; familiarity with Linux is a plus.
• Expertise in managing Active Directory environments for user account provisioning and permissions management.
• Skilled in troubleshooting software issues within Microsoft Office applications as well as enterprise tools like ServiceNow, Jira, BMC Remedy, and SCCM.
• Ability to diagnose hardware problems related to computer hardware components; experience with BMC Remedy or similar ticketing systems is advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills with a customer service-oriented approach to technical support; capable of translating technical language into understandable terms for users.
• Analysis skills for monitoring network performance metrics; adept at identifying vulnerabilities or bottlenecks in network infrastructure.
• Familiarity with operating systems including Windows (various versions), macOS, Linux distributions; understanding of TCP/IP networking fundamentals is essential.
