Systems Support Technician

As our business continues to grow, the systems we use are constantly developing with us. We are looking for someone with a technical or computing background who can provide practical support with system changes, updates, adaptations, troubleshooting and ongoing development.

This is not a traditional IT support role. Our IT infrastructure, hardware, networks and general IT support are managed by an external IT provider.

This role is specifically focused on the software, systems and technology we use to operate the business every day.

The Role

Working across the business, you will help us manage and continually develop our systems as our operational requirements change.

This could involve troubleshooting a system issue, changing a workflow, building or amending a form, helping develop a report, testing new functionality, implementing an update or researching a technical solution to a new requirement.

You will work with different departments to understand what they need from our systems and provide practical technical support to help achieve it., * Provide day-to-day support for our internal business systems.

• Troubleshoot system issues and investigate solutions.
• Make system changes, updates and adaptations.
• Create and amend forms, checklists, templates and workflows.
• Support the continued development of existing systems.
• Assist departments with system and technology requirements.
• Test changes and new functionality before implementation.
• Support the rollout of system updates and developments.
• Set up and amend users, permissions and system access where required.
• Support the development of reports, dashboards and management information.
• Assist with maintaining accurate and consistent data across our systems.
• Identify opportunities to simplify or improve processes using technology.
• Liaise with software providers when additional technical support or development is required.
• Support employees with system functionality and new developments.
• Produce simple system guidance and user instructions.
• Research potential technical solutions, applications and system features.
• Provide general technical advice relating to our business systems.
• Keep up to date with new functionality and developments available within the platforms we use.

Previous experience with Joblogic, SafetyCulture or Power BI would be particularly desirable, although training on our specific systems can be provided.

Experience or knowledge of Power Automate, system integrations, APIs, SQL, data management, reporting or workflow automation would also be advantageous.

Qualifications & Experience

We are particularly interested in candidates with a technical, IT or computing background.

This could include:

• NVQ or BTEC qualification in IT, Computing or a related subject.
• T Level in Digital/IT.
• IT or digital apprenticeship.
• A qualification in Computing, IT or a related field.
• Relevant Microsoft or other technology certifications.
• Previous experience in a junior IT, systems, software support or technical role.

Formal qualifications are desirable rather than essential where a candidate can demonstrate relevant practical technical experience.

This role could particularly suit someone in the early stages of their technology career who wants to develop their experience across business systems, software, data and reporting.

Rather than working purely within traditional IT support, you will be involved in the systems that directly support the day-to-day operation of a growing national business.

The role will provide exposure to system development, configuration, troubleshooting, data, reporting, workflow improvements and new technology, with the opportunity to develop your skills and responsibilities as your experience grows.
