Job description

We are looking for Self Employed FTTH (Fibre to the Home) Engineers to work in East London, South London & West London on the Openreach network with both residential and business customers, handling the full Fibre installation and maintenance of telecom services. You’ll work on Both Overhead and Underground PIA networks, delivering end-to-end solutions including connecting the end user to the network., * Network Build-outs: Install new telecom services primarily by running overhead lines on utility poles, on occasions subducting protective ducts underground or using compressed air to “blow” new fibre optic lines through them-all involving hands-on, physical work.

  • Customer installations: Visit our customers’ homes or businesses to set up internal cabling and make sure their new services are working perfectly.
  • Network Maintenance: Work with live network infrastructure-cabinets, ducts, and poles-clearing minor blockages and completing minor network extensions as needed.
  • Quality & Safety: Follow strict safety procedures, and ensure all equipment is safe to use. You’ll also help restore sites, leaving every location clean and safe for our customers.
  • Reporting & Admin: Use our systems to record your work and keep information up to date in a timely manner.

Payments under CIS:

Tax will be deducted from your pay before you receive it, and the contractor will pay this directly to HMRC on your behalf.

Requirements

  • Technical Skills: Strong practical knowledge of telecom networks, proficiency with both telecommunication power tools (e.g., drills, splicers, Tetra and Cable rodding tools), basic IT skills for using mobile job management apps to document work completions.
  • Communication & Customer Care: Excellent communication skills and a professional approach when dealing with customers, the public, and stakeholders.
