Job description
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Housing Systems Support Officer to join our ICT & Digital team, supporting critical housing systems that underpin frontline services across the city. Working closely with the Housing Systems Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring that our Integrated Housing Management System (IHMS) and associated housing systems operate effectively, securely and in line with legislative and regulatory requirements. You will contribute to system development, enhancement projects, reporting, and user support, helping to ensure the delivery of high‒quality, customer‒focused housing services. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong systems support experience who enjoys problem‒solving, improving business processes and working collaboratively with services, suppliers and colleagues., * Support the design, configuration, development and ongoing improvement of the Integrated Housing Management System and related housing ICT systems
- Provide technical expertise in housing systems such as Northgate Housing, Umbrella and Codeman, ensuring systems support statutory compliance and effective service delivery
- Test, evaluate and implement system upgrades, patches and new software releases, liaising with suppliers where required
- Investigate and resolve system issues, escalating complex problems as necessary and applying sound technical judgement
- Produce accurate and meaningful management information, statutory returns and bespoke reports (including FOI requests)
- Support annual processes such as rent increases, year‒end processing and batch runs, including reconciliation of financial data
- Assist with system security, user permissions and data integrity, ensuring compliance with data protection requirements
- Develop system documentation and user guidance, and deliver training to system users on a one to one and group basis
- Contribute to service improvement initiatives, efficiency gains and the development of business processes
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Council and with external partners to deliver high‒quality outcomes
Requirements
- A strong understanding of housing IT systems and a good working knowledge of housing legislation and policies
- Experience of testing and implementing software releases and supporting system enhancements
- Strong analytical skills, with experience producing reports and working with tools such as SQL, Business Objects and Microsoft Office
- The ability to investigate complex problems and deliver practical, sustainable solutions
- Experience of supporting users, delivering training and managing competing priorities in a busy environment
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non‒technical stakeholders
