Job description

We are looking for a hands-on Computer Hardware Technician to join our team and support the processing, testing, refurbishment, and preparation of IT assets for resale., As a Computer Hardware Technician, you will be responsible for processing incoming equipment, testing and refurbishing devices, securely wiping data-bearing assets, and completing asset reports for our clients.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong hardware knowledge who enjoys working with computers, laptops, servers, and other IT equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process incoming IT equipment from customer collections.
  • Test, diagnose, and assess desktops, laptops, servers, and networking equipment.
  • Complete detailed asset reports and maintain accurate records.
  • Perform secure data wiping in accordance with company procedures.
  • Refurbish and upgrade equipment for resale, including RAM, SSD, and component replacements.
  • Grade equipment based on condition and functionality.
  • Install and configure operating systems where required.
  • Carry out quality control checks before equipment is sold or recycled.
  • Assist with inventory management and stock control.
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with company security and environmental procedures.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Serving?, * Experience working with computer hardware.

  • Strong knowledge of desktop and laptop components.
  • Ability to diagnose hardware faults and carry out repairs.
  • Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable

  • Experience in IT refurbishment, recycling, or ITAD.
  • Knowledge of secure data destruction and data wiping processes.
  • Experience working with Dell, HP, Lenovo, and other enterprise hardware.
  • Experience with server hardware and networking equipment.
  • CompTIA A+ or equivalent qualification.
