Job description

  • We are seeking mechanically inclined individuals to join our team at the META data center in Des Moines, IA. As a technician, you will work with blueprints and use hand and power tools to assemble and mount trays, server racks, and pull fiber optic cable. You will perform various tasks, including scanning inventory, unpacking materials, building server racks, installing servers and switches, and running cable. Training will be provided. This position is entry-level, offering a great opportunity to enter the data center industry.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and mount trays and server racks using blueprints.
  • Pull and run fiber optic cable from point A to point B.
  • Dress fiber cable, install cables, terminate cables, and set up electrical systems.
  • Work with fiber optic cabling and low voltage to connect systems.
  • Get trained in other data center techniques, * This role offers a foot in the door opportunity into the data center space with future growth. You will work in a dynamic environment, supported by training and development opportunities. Revolving projects as the data center continues to expand and develop. Work Environment:

  • This is a fully on-site position in Des Moines, Iowa, performed on an active construction site. The job requires adherence to safety protocols and the wearing of PPE, including steel-toed boots, hard hats, safety glasses, and gloves. The schedule consists of five 10-hour shifts from Monday to Friday, 7am to 5:00pm, with occasional Saturdays if needed., Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, for all positions located in the city and county of San Francisco, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.

Requirements
