Job description

This is a great opportunity for someone with foundational IT skills who enjoys troubleshooting, working directly with users, and getting out from behind a desk. You’ll support computers, software, mobile devices, printers, network-connected equipment, and other technology used throughout our operation.

Our IT Technicians work directly with employees and equipment throughout the facility, so this is a hands-on position in an active manufacturing environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide onsite help desk and technical support to employees
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktop and laptop computers
  • Troubleshoot Windows, Microsoft Office, software, and user-access issues
  • Support printers, copiers, mobile devices, handheld devices, phones, and peripherals
  • Assist with basic network and connectivity troubleshooting
  • Support technology such as CCTV cameras, access-control systems, digital displays, and other facility systems
  • Set up equipment and user workstations for new employees
  • Assist with hardware and software upgrades and refresh projects
  • Diagnose equipment and technology issues and work toward timely resolution
  • Communicate with employees, vendors, and the Corporate IT team to resolve problems
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment, issues, repairs, and completed work
  • Assist with IT security protocols and company technology standards
  • Provide updates to users regarding the status and resolution of support requests

The company’s existing job description specifically identifies end-user/help desk support, hardware and software management, networking, Active Directory, Microsoft applications, troubleshooting, and communication as important elements of the position., This position supports technology throughout an active commercial bakery and requires considerably more physical activity than a traditional desk-based IT support position.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field OR equivalent IT experience/training
  • Previous IT support, help desk, desktop support, or technical troubleshooting experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of Windows-based computers and Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with Active Directory is a plus
  • Basic understanding of networking and desktop connectivity
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, printers, and peripheral devices
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to research unfamiliar technical issues
  • Good communication and customer-service skills
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a larger IT team
  • Strong organization and time-management skills

These qualifications closely reflect the current internal JD, which allows an associate degree or equivalent experience/training and calls for desktop, Microsoft, networking, and troubleshooting knowledge., * Stand and walk throughout the facility for several hours during the workday

  • Bend, stoop, kneel, and crawl as needed to access computers, cabling, network connections, and equipment
  • Work underneath desks, around equipment, and in other areas necessary to install or troubleshoot technology
  • Lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Safely work throughout a manufacturing environment while following all required safety, GMP, food safety, and PPE requirements

Benefits & conditions

From $20.00/hour Late Morning / Early Evening Schedule - approximately 11:00 AM-7:30 PM, This position is expected to work a late-morning through early-evening schedule, approximately 11:00 AM-7:30 PM.

Some flexibility may be required based on business needs, projects, system implementations, or technical issues.
