Job description

Reporting directly to the Managing Director and joining the Senior Management Team, you will take ownership of technology across a UK manufacturing business employing approximately 300 people across multiple sites.

This is a broad role covering technology strategy, infrastructure, cybersecurity, business systems, bespoke software development and IT service delivery. You will lead an internal team of six and manage additional support from external infrastructure and software development partners.

The business develops many of its critical applications internally using Microsoft and .NET technologies, giving you the opportunity to shape both its technology function and future systems roadmap.

Technology is valued by the leadership team, with support for sensible investment that improves performance, security or efficiency.

  • A broad IT leadership role with genuine autonomy
  • Direct access to a technology-focused Managing Director
  • Membership of the Senior Management Team
  • Support for technology investment that adds business value

  • A long-term role within a successful UK manufacturing business
  • Private medical insurance, pension and holiday purchase scheme

  • Strong business systems or software applications experience
  • A good understanding of cybersecurity, resilience and risk
  • Experience delivering technology projects and business change
  • Confidence advising senior leaders and managing external partners
  • A practical, commercially aware and people-focused leadership style

Experience overseeing bespoke Microsoft or .NET software development would be valuable but is not essential. Manufacturing or experience in a similar complexed business would also be beneficial, although the priority is finding a passionate technology leader who wants to develop a team and help the business succeed.
