- Take responsibility for the reliable, secure and effective operation of the organisation’s IT environment, systems and user technology
- Manage and maintain the organisation’s cloud-based IT services, user accounts, access permissions and security controls
- Oversee key business applications and systems, providing technical support, resolving issues and identifying opportunities for improvement
- Manage IT operations including user onboarding and offboarding, hardware and software provisioning, access management, documentation and business continuity
- Provide technical leadership within the IT function, supporting colleagues, prioritising workloads and acting as a senior point of contact for IT matters
- Manage relationships with external IT providers and technology suppliers, including reviewing service performance, recommendations, costs and project requirements
- Identify opportunities to improve IT processes through automation, system integration and more efficient ways of working
- Lead and support ongoing technology projects and improvements, ensuring systems remain secure, reliable and appropriate for the organisation’s needs
Requirements
Are you an experienced IT Manager with a strong technical background and experience overseeing IT systems, infrastructure, security and third party technology providers?
We are currently recruiting for an IT Manager based in Ripon. This is a varied and hands-on position where you will take responsibility for the day to day operation, security and development of the organisation’s IT environment, while providing technical leadership and support across the wider business.
The successful candidate will be comfortable combining hands-on technical responsibilities with IT management, taking ownership of issues, managing external suppliers and identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes and security., * Previous experience in an IT Manager, IT Operations Manager, IT Lead or similar senior technical position
- Strong hands on experience managing modern business IT environments
- Good understanding of IT security, user access and data protection principles
- Experience managing business critical systems and supporting users across an organisation
- Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Experience managing external IT suppliers, service providers or technology partners
- Previous experience providing technical leadership, mentoring or line management
- Comfortable balancing strategic IT responsibilities with hands-on technical work
- Experience with automation, scripting or system integration would be advantageous
- Strong understanding of cloud based technologies and modern workplace systems
- A proactive approach, with the ability to investigate issues and take ownership through to resolution
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing operational and project requirements

Benefits & conditions
You will receive a competitive salary of £55,000 - £65,000, depending on experience, alongside Monday to Friday, full time working hours and the flexibility of hybrid working. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced IT professional to take ownership of a broad technology environment, lead on technical improvements and play a key role in the ongoing development, security and efficiency of the organisation’s IT function.
