Job description

An experienced IT Support Technician is needed to support a period of change for an established organisation based in Alfreton, Derbyshire. This individual will be familiar with working with a wide range of technology such as laptops, PCs, AV equipment, servers, firewalls and various networking equipment and should show experience in all these areas in the CV., * Provide first and second line IT support to users across multiple sites and departments

  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, networking and user account issues
  • Support the rollout, configuration and maintenance of laptops, desktop computers and mobile devices
  • Assist with the administration of Microsoft 365 environments, including user management and device support
  • Escalate complex technical issues to third-party support providers where required
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents, service requests and completed work
  • Support infrastructure projects, system upgrades and technology improvement initiatives
  • Assist with the setup and troubleshooting of audio-visual equipment for meetings, presentations and events
  • Carry out routine maintenance and health checks across IT systems and equipment
  • Deliver a high level of customer service to both technical and non-technical users

Requirements

Do you have experience in Technical support?, * Enhanced DBS check required essential on the update service

  • Previous experience providing first or second line IT support within a professional environment
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365 applications
  • Experience supporting desktop PCs, laptops, printers and peripheral devices
  • Understanding of Active Directory, including password resets and user account administration
  • Basic networking knowledge, including switches, wireless connectivity and troubleshooting, * UK Address History: 3 years (required)

Language:

  • English Fluently (required)

Licence/Certification:

  • Right to Work in the UK (required)
  • enhanced DBS check on the update service (required)

Benefits & conditions

Alongside an attractive hourly rate, the individual will receive organisation specific training and support, but should be able to hit the ground running in a role such as this. The role is offered initially until September, however extension or even permanent opportunities may be available at the end of the contract. Due to the requirement for an immediate start, candidates should possess an enhanced DBS check which is on the update service to aid a speedy start.
