Job description

  • Develop software documentation and code across vehicle domains, including board support packages (BSPs), cybersecurity, displays, and software download capabilities.
  • Analyze and develop software requirements for ground combat vehicle applications.
  • Create preliminary and detailed software designs using department-approved software design tools and standards.
  • Develop software code in accordance with established engineering standards and development procedures.
  • Develop test procedures and perform unit and functional testing of executable software.
  • Perform hardware/software integration within embedded and ground vehicle computing environments.
  • Troubleshoot and debug software issues identified throughout development, integration, and testing phases.
  • Support software releases involving multiple developers and integrated software components.
  • Provide development status and technical progress updates to software project leads.
  • Collaborate with Systems Engineering, Software Quality, and other engineering and business functions.
  • Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies and software development activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

C/C++ Ground Combat Vehicle Systems, We are hiring a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to develop and integrate software for defense ground combat vehicle systems, including board support packages (BSPs), cybersecurity, vehicle displays, networking, and software download capabilities. This role supports embedded software development using C/C++, Java, C#, Python, Qt, Linux, VxWorks, RTOS environments, virtualization, and vehicle network technologies while contributing to requirements analysis, software design, coding, testing, hardware/software integration, and Agile development.

Candidates should bring experience with ground combat vehicle network architectures, serial and network protocols, publish/subscribe middleware, and open architecture standards such as GCIA, MOSA, SOSA, and FACE., U.S. Citizenship required by law or government contract

  • Ability to Obtain a Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, embedded software development, or related roles.
  • Programming experience with technologies such as C, C++, C#, Java, Python, and Qt.
  • Experience with source control and software development platforms such as Git, GitLab, and/or Bitbucket.
  • Experience developing software in mixed operating system and embedded environments, including VxWorks, Linux, RTOS, virtualization, BSPs, and/or GVOS.
  • Experience with serial and network communications protocols, including RS-232/422, CAN, TCP/IP, and UDP/IP.
  • Experience with DDS, Kafka, or other publish/subscribe middleware technologies.
  • Experience with ground combat vehicle network architecture design.
  • Experience with GCIA, Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA), Sensor Open Systems Architecture (SOSA), and/or Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE) standards.
  • Experience using Agile software development processes and tools., * Previous software engineering experience within the defense industry.
  • Familiarity with Type 1 and Type 2 hypervisors.
  • Experience or familiarity with containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with Internet of Things (IoT) concepts.
  • Experience with Cameo Systems Modeler.
  • Experience with Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) architectures.
  • Experience with NATO Generic Vehicle Architecture (NGVA) data models.
  • Experience with UK Generic Vehicle Architecture (UKGVA) data models.
  • Data Distribution Service (DDS) experience.
  • Experience with UDP and TCP network communications.
  • Multicast networking experience.
  • Experience applying continuous improvement processes and methodologies.
