Job description
The California Secretary of State is seeking a qualified applicant to fill a permanent, full-time Supervising Program Technician II position in the Los Angeles Regional Office. Under the general direction of the Supervisor I and/or Supervisor II, the incumbent works with a high level of independence and trains, plans, organizes and directs the work of a moderate sized staff. Duties encompass the following:
- Program Management
- Personnel Relations
- Coordination & Outreach
- Operational Review
- Administrative
Requirements
- Have good working knowledge of the effective principles of supervision
- Candidates should have a good understanding of organizational techniques and time management skills, including techniques for prioritizing multiple projects to ensure completion by established deadlines
- Excellent problem resolution skills
- Possess strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Candidate should be able to interact effectively with the public and all levels of departmental personnel and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships
- Demonstrates ability to take initiative, be flexible, work independently, and have the willingness to learn new duties
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with tact and diplomacy
- Maintain regular, consistent, and predictable attendance in the performance of these specific functions
