Senior Forward Deployed Engineer

Apex is seeking a highly experienced Senior Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to drive business transformation through cutting-edge AI and enterprise technology. As an FDE, you will work directly with business leaders and operational teams to define real-world challenges, rapidly prototype AI solutions, and deliver measurable business value. • Translate complex business problems into actionable technical requirements and solution architectures
• Act as a trusted technical advisor to business and functional leaders
• Architect, prototype, and deliver AI-first solutions, including LLM-powered applications, AI agents, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems
• Rapidly build proofs of concept-delivering results within 90 days-and transition scalable solutions to engineering teams
• Design and integrate APIs, enterprise systems, and third-party platforms to ensure seamless deployment
• Iterate closely with users for validation and continuous improvement

12+ years of combined business, industry, and technology experience

• Demonstrated success working directly within business operations, not solely as a technology provider
• Functional expertise in at least one domain: Legal, Nutrition, Manufacturing, or Service Management
• Strong executive-facing skills; ability to drive transformation initiatives at the highest levels
• Hands-on experience with AI models (OpenAI, Claude, Gemini)
• Experience designing RAG architectures and building AI agents (LangChain, CrewAI, AutoGen)
• Strong proficiency in Python
• Proficient in at least one major cloud platform (Azure preferred)
• Solid knowledge of SQL, NoSQL, data modeling, ETL/ELT pipeline design
• Familiarity with enterprise platforms (SAP, Salesforce)
• Startup mindset-comfortable in resource-constrained and fast-moving environments
