IT - Developer - Back End Developer II

Join our innovative IT team as a Backend Java Developer II, where you’ll directly shape the architecture and performance of mission-critical backend services. This is an onsite role in New Albany, OH, offering hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies and the opportunity to make a tangible impact on high-profile projects. You’ll work in a collaborative environment that values technical excellence, continuous learning, and career advancement., Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot (2.7+)

• Implement non-blocking, reactive applications leveraging Spring WebFlux for optimal responsiveness
• Manage and optimize event-driven architectures with Kafka, including topic creation, configuration, and seamless integration with Spring Boot
• Build custom Kafka producers and consumers for robust message processing
• Develop and maintain data management solutions with MyBatis, JDBC, and SQL
• Deploy, monitor, and optimize applications running on Tomcat servers
• Utilize Maven for dependency management and Docker for containerization
• Apply strong security practices using Spring Security (5.x), understanding Oauth and JWT protocols
• Adhere to test-driven development to ensure code reliability and maintainability
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

• 3-5 years’ experience in backend development with a strong focus on Java, Kafka, and Spring WebFlux
• Proficient in Java, Spring Boot (2.7+), Spring Security (5.x), Spring WebFlux
• Expertise in Kafka event streaming, topic management, and integration
• Strong knowledge of MyBatis, JDBC, and SQL
• Experience with Tomcat, Maven, Docker, and Kubernetes
• Understanding of Oauth and JWT authentication
• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and collaborative mindset

• Familiarity with Confluent Cloud
• Experience with CI pipelines using GitLab CI and deployment management with Helm
