Staff Software Engineer, Financial Platform

This role will focus on building and supporting the core systems that power financial workflows, with an emphasis on reliability, correctness, and end-to-end ownership. You will collaborate closely with product, compliance, operations, and other engineering teams to deliver scalable solutions that support customer-facing financial experiences. The position calls for a pragmatic engineer who can guide complex technical work, strengthen production systems, and mentor others on a senior team., * Design, build, and ship services and APIs for financial integrations

• Handle payments, settlements, and reconciliation involving customer funds
• Support critical workflows such as payroll integration and 401k loans
• Collaborate with product, compliance, and operations to deliver solutions
• Debug production issues and improve system reliability
• Work with other engineering teams on system integration
• Mentor engineers tackling complex technical challenges
• Write clear, reliable, and scalable code

• 8+ years of software engineering experience in production environments
• Strong background in services, APIs, and data-heavy workflows
• Experience with financial systems or other high-correctness domains
• Ability to manage systems end-to-end, including production support
• Collaborative experience with product managers and cross-functional teams
• Pragmatic, execution-focused engineering mindset
• Strong communication skills and mentoring ability
• Proficiency in Ruby on Rails or similar backend frameworks
