Job description

  • Role Summary: Provide technical support for hardware and software, delivering high-quality service to end users to ensure service support and delivery meet the agency’s business needs.

  • Day-to-Day Tasks:

  • Handle level 2 tickets (and level 1 when necessary, such as answering phones and creating tickets).
  • Manage staff onboarding (equipment deployment) and offboarding.
  • Train state staff and provide support for issues requiring escalation, ensuring timely completion.
  • Utilize PowerShell scripting to maximize platform management productivity.
  • Administer corporate mobile device management (MDM) solutions.
  • Maintain platform security and compliance aligned with the agency’s cybersecurity program to protect data.
  • Test Group Policies and endpoint OS updates.
  • Utilize standard enterprise tools to develop or implement infrastructure hardware, software, and other technical components.
  • Provide preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and rapid resolution of routine problems to ensure infrastructure stability.
  • Collaborate with business operations, project management, and other IT teams to coordinate work efforts and establish processes.
  • Perform system software and hardware upgrades and changes, including planning, scheduling, testing, and coordination.
  • Monitor, measure, and test current/new infrastructure products and services.
  • Perform operational, project, and support tasks with little to no supervision while meeting or exceeding SLAs.
  • Develop deployment documentation such as design/environment specifications, user and technical manuals, and process documentation.
  • Use remote access technologies (VPN, terminal services).
  • Collaborate with internal/external application support, systems infrastructure, security, network, telecom, and service desk departments.

Requirements

  • Mandatory Qualification: Pass/Fail evaluation for experience in the field of Information Technology, with experience in the usage and support of development platforms, technical architectures, or business applications running on those platforms beyond that of a programmer.
  • Requested Qualifications (36 Months experience required for each):
  1. Desktop Support
  2. Technical approaches in design, build testing, and debugging problems
  3. Mobile device management (MDM) solutions
  4. Active Directory group policy standards
  5. Networking concepts (DHCP, VLANs, ACLs, Firewalls, etc.)
  6. Windows 7 & 10 (including 64-bit operating systems)
  7. Scripting language experience (PowerShell preferred)
  8. Client-based security management tools (anti-virus, PKI, HDD encryption, and general client-based security hardening)
  9. Windows image deployment using MDT
  10. Advanced troubleshooting and support for VPN, 2-Factor Authentication, and network printing
  11. Active Directory management
  12. Cybersecurity best practices and compliance
  13. Intel workstation hardware and operating systems
  14. Analytical and problem-solving abilities dealing with hardware/software issues
  15. Engineering experience: research, analysis, planning, and implementation
  16. Certifications relevant to MS Windows
