Data Center Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Center Technician to join our dynamic team. This role involves the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of telecommunications and data networking systems within data center environments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in computer networking, electrical systems, and telecommunications infrastructure. As a vital member of our operations team, you will ensure the seamless operation of critical data center equipment, supporting our commitment to reliable and efficient digital services., * Install, configure, and maintain structured cabling systems including Ethernet, fiber optic cables, and low-voltage electrical wiring to support network and telecommunication systems.

• Perform fiber splicing, cable termination, and cable management to ensure optimal connectivity and system performance.
• Conduct routine inspections and diagnostics using specialized tools such as Ohmmeters, diagnostic software, and telecommunications testing equipment.
• Troubleshoot hardware issues related to computer hardware, network equipment such as Cisco routers, Juniper devices, Avaya systems, and VoIP telephony solutions.
• Support the installation and testing of telecommunications systems including LAN (Local Area Network), WAN (Wide Area Network), RF (Radio Frequency) testing, and power systems.
• Assist in the setup and maintenance of network wiring for communication systems utilizing Cat5, Cat6 cables, and other structured cabling components.
• Collaborate with team members to perform equipment repairs, system upgrades, and preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Utilize schematics and technical diagrams for accurate system installation and troubleshooting procedures.
• Support customer service efforts by providing technical assistance on-site or remotely to resolve client issues efficiently.
• Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, system configurations, and repair activities for compliance and future reference.

• Proven experience in field service roles within data centers or telecommunications environments.
• Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts including Ethernet protocols, VLANs, TCP/IP configurations, and network security fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience with fiber optic systems installation-including splicing-and troubleshooting fiber networks.
• Familiarity with telecommunication equipment such as Cisco routers, Juniper devices, Avaya telephony systems, VoIP solutions, and structured cabling standards.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools like Ohmmeters, cable testers, RF testers, and other telecommunications testing equipment.
• Ability to read schematics, technical diagrams, and electrical wiring diagrams accurately.
• Knowledge of AC/DC electrical systems and low-voltage electrical wiring practices.
• Skilled in the use of hand tools such as crimpers, wire strippers, power tools for equipment installation or repair tasks.
• Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA or equivalent are preferred but not mandatory.
