Job description

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Data Center Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and installing critical telecommunications and data center systems. Your expertise will ensure the seamless operation of network infrastructure, fiber optic systems, and communication equipment. The ideal candidate is energized by technical challenges and committed to delivering exceptional service and system reliability., * Install, configure, and maintain structured cabling systems including Cat5, Cat6, and fiber optic cabling for data centers and telecommunications systems

  • Perform fiber splicing, cable termination, and cable wiring to ensure optimal connectivity and performance
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters, network analyzers, and telecommunications testing equipment
  • Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems including low-voltage wiring, AC/DC electrical systems, and power supplies to guarantee safety and functionality
  • Set up and test network hardware including Cisco routers, Juniper devices, Ethernet switches, VoIP phones, and other communication systems
  • Utilize schematics and technical manuals to interpret system layouts for installation or repair projects
  • Perform CCTV surveillance setup, CCTV system troubleshooting, RF testing for radio frequency devices, and ensure proper operation of security cameras
  • Assist with the installation of telecommunication systems such as Avaya telephony platforms and other voice/data communication solutions
  • Support network wiring projects involving structured cabling installation for LANs (Local Area Networks) and telecommunication infrastructure
  • Use hand tools and power tools safely during installation or repair activities while adhering to NEC (National Electrical Code) standards

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a service technician or in a similar data center or telecommunications role with a focus on network installation and maintenance
  • Hands-on experience with fiber optic systems installation, splicing, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with computer networking concepts including Ethernet, LAN/WAN architecture, VLANs, and network protocols
  • Knowledge of telecommunication equipment such as VoIP systems, Cisco routers, Juniper devices, and Avaya platforms
  • Ability to read schematics, technical diagrams, and wiring diagrams accurately
  • Experience working with low-voltage electrical wiring standards in compliance with NEC regulations
  • Skilled in using diagnostic tools like ohmmeters, cable testers, RF testers, and other telecommunications testing equipment
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members
  • Prior experience working in a data center environment or supporting large-scale IT infrastructure projects is highly desirable

Benefits & conditions

Pay: $26.00 - $29.00 per hour
