Junior Software Developer

Are you a junior software developer who enjoys building things, solving problems and figuring out how technology can make things better? Bright Purple have an amazing opportunity for a Graduate/Junior Developer to join a thriving business looking to capture the potential of AI and build their own bespoke, in-house products and platforms. You will join a small but growing in-house development team as part of a wider business operating in the legal industry across the US and the UK. The Role: You’ll work alongside an experienced Technology & Data team, helping develop the applications, tools and automations that support the wider business. It’s a hands-on position offering exposure to different parts of the software development lifecycle, from understanding a problem and designing a solution through to building, testing and improving the finished product.

We’re keen to speak with developers early in their careers who have a solid technical foundation and a genuine appetite to learn. You’ll ideally bring:

• Some commercial software development experience, ideally around one to two years.
• A working knowledge of Python and an understanding of backend development.
• Exposure to Microsoft Azure or experience deploying applications in a cloud environment.
• An understanding of APIs, databases and how applications work together.
• A methodical approach to problem-solving and a willingness to tackle unfamiliar challenges.
• Good communication skills and the confidence to share ideas, ask questions and work with others.

Just as importantly, we’re looking for someone who takes an active interest in their own development. Personal projects, self-directed learning and examples of things you’ve built outside work or university are all valuable. You don’t need an extensive portfolio, but being able to talk about something you’ve created, why you built it and how you approached the challenges will help you stand out. You don’t need to be an expert in every technology listed. Curiosity, initiative and the ability to learn are just as important as what you already know. Why This Opportunity:
