IT Field Technician (with focus on deployments & troubleshooting)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable IT Technician to join our team. This role is primarily responsible for the physical replacement of end-of-life computer hardware for our users, ensuring a smooth transition and minimal disruption. The successful candidate will meticulously follow documented procedures and instructions to prepare, deploy, and retrieve computer equipment., * Execute scheduled computer replacement tasks based on provided lists and timelines.

• Prepare new computers for deployment, which may include basic configuration and software installation according to standard images and procedures.
• Travel to user locations (if applicable) to perform on-site computer swaps.
• Assist users with the basic transfer of their data to the new machine, following established guidelines.
• Collect outdated computer equipment and ensure it is handled and processed according to company procedures for inventory and disposal or return.
• Maintain accurate records of deployed and retrieved equipment, including serial numbers and asset tags.
• Follow all instructions and technical documentation precisely during the deployment process.
• Provide basic, Tier 1 level support during the replacement process, escalating more complex issues to senior technicians.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with users during the replacement process.
• Adhere to all company IT policies and procedures.

• Proficient in computer networking principles and practices.
• Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure components, including servers, routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Experience with technical support processes and tools, particularly Remedy.
• Familiarity with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.
• Competence in operating systems such as Windows and Mac OS.
• Ability to provide effective IT support in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.
