Senior Data Engineer

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Data Engineer for a top healthcare technology client. This individual will play a key role in executing the data engineering strategy by building scalable, reliable data pipelines and reusable software components. The ideal candidate is a hands-on senior engineer who enjoys influencing technical direction through architecture discussions, code reviews, and modern engineering practices. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge Azure and big data technologies while directly supporting critical healthcare data initiatives.

• 5-7 years of experience in data or software engineering

• 5+ years of hands-on coding experience with Microsoft SQL

• 3+ years working with big data technologies (Databricks, Apache Spark, Python, Azure)

• Strong experience with Azure services (Data Factory, Dataflows, Azure Functions, Service Bus)

• Experience building and maintaining scalable data pipelines

• Experience developing and supporting API integrations

• Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals (testing automation, code reviews, DevOps, telemetry)

• Experience working with Delta tables, Parquet files, and ADLS

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience * Experience working with healthcare datasets

• Familiarity with HL7 communication protocols

• Experience with event-driven and distributed architectures

• Experience with polyglot data storage (relational, columnar, key-value, graph)

• Strong background in architecture, design patterns, and best practices

• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
