Job description

The Information Technology Specialist plays a pivotal role in supporting the IT systems and equipment of a new 300-employee poultry processing facility. This position collaborates closely with Site IT Specialists and the corporate IT team, ensuring the successful installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of essential plant systems, including weighing, labeling, traceability, stun, QA, shipping, maintenance, PC’s, printers, and core network infrastructure. The IT Specialist reports to the Complex Manager/Corporate IT with a primary work schedule of Monday-Friday during the day shift (4am-1pm), demonstrating flexibility to work additional hours, holidays, weekends, and overtime on short notice as needed., * Install, operate, and maintain computer networks and communication systems, ensuring their safe and efficient functioning.

  • Support the startup of daily production operations, verifying the proper functioning of weighing, labeling, and inventory/traceability systems.
  • Collaborate in the installation and operation of computers, printers, networks, machines, and systems.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and software issues across both office and production areas.
  • Provide support for external contractor services, repairs, and maintenance of plant IT systems.
  • Work closely with IT specialists and the corporate IT team during technology transfer and startup phases.
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer and training of employees on computer-based systems and technology.
  • Ensure the accuracy of data and systems at the end of each day, conducting reconciliation and checks to maintain reliability.
  • Share recommendations for IT system solutions and improvements.

  • Maintain proper documentation of daily IT activities and resolved issues.
  • Collaborate with various teams to ensure the smooth operation of IT systems within the facility.
  • Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Production troubleshooting?, * Computer-based certification (preferred/ not required)

Experience:

  • Min. of 2 years of related IT work experience (Preferred industrial environment/not required)
  • Industrial Equipment troubleshooting / repair, * Technical knowledge /experience in repairing, troubleshooting, installing computers, printers, networks
  • Familiarity with networked environment: e.g., Computers, Phones, IoT, Servers, MS Windows, MS Office
  • Service-oriented team player w/ excellent communication & interpersonal skills
  • Successful multi-tasker w/ ability to work in fast-paced environment

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift / move up to 50 lbs. occasionally
  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, crawl, stoop
  • Work safely in food processing environments w/ varying temperatures e.g., 35-40 / 100 degrees
  • Exposure to low & high voltage equipment
