Job description

We are a thriving municipality between the NC metro regions of Greensboro and Charlotte. Due to our area’s population growth, our Land Development and Public Works teams are growing as well. We are now seeking a driven Engineer with a focus on Civil Engineering, municipal infrastructure, sewer design and stormwater management to support land and development projects. The ideal candidate will help design and implement infrastructure solutions while ensuring compliance with local codes and regulations., * Design and develop civil engineering projects related to land development and stormwater management.

  • Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to evaluate project viability.
  • Prepare engineering calculations and documentation for project permitting and approvals.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other engineers to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Review and interpret construction codes and regulations to ensure compliance during project execution.
  • Perform inspections and assessments of existing infrastructures and proposed sites for feasibility.
  • Assist in the preparation of project proposals and reports for clients and stakeholders.

Requirements

Do you have a valid Engineer in Training certification?, Do you have experience in Working on construction projects in a civil infrastructure role?, Requirements: EI/EIT preferred, 2+ years in municipal, civil engineering and land development, water/sewer projects, * Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.

  • Experience in land development and stormwater management projects.
  • Knowledge of local and state construction codes and regulations.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and GIS software is preferred.
  • EIT or Engineer Intern designation is a plus. Ideally interested in pursuing PE license long term.
  • Experience in permitting processes and municipal compliance is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform engineering calculations and assessments.
