Job description
The IT Technician is responsible for providing the highest level of customer service for internet and IT-related requests. CWEP seeks an applicant with a combination of strong communication skills and the ability to apply logic to troubleshoot problems. A basic understanding of IT and networking concepts is preferred, but not necessarily required. Training is provided. GREAT customer service is a must. This position will assist with extending our support hours into the early evening. We can often work around a college schedule. Applicant must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50lbs and must also obtain a Class E Missouri Commercial Drivers License within 120 days of employment. The starting wage is $23.25 - $35.64 per hour based on experience with excellent benefits., * Responsible for providing technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, and software.
- Design, develop, install, and maintain our corporate communications networks made up of cabling, computers, printers, switches, routers, radios, and other electronic devices.
- Support our ISP customers by providing reliable internet service, troubleshooting internet outages, and scheduling repairs.
- Maintain documentation related to services, customer installation, inventory maintenance, and service orders.
- Maximize network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with network architects on network optimization.
- Work with team members to develop and deploy new security strategies to make sure that all systems and data are secure.
- Support continuous improvement efforts and the change management effects associated with the implementation of improvements.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; participating in professional organizations.
- Performs other related duties and tasks as required or assigned by management.
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driver’s License license?, Do you have experience in Customer communication?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science helpful but not required; experience as a IT Help Desk would be helpful, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, ability, and skillset.
Licensing/Certification:
Class E Missouri Driver’s license, First Aid/CPR/AED first responder certification (can be obtained on the job)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to clearly communicate and consult with vendors and clients.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50lbs., * High school or equivalent (Preferred), * Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)
